The representative from the Shiga Prefectural Government (where our Hiyoshi headquarters in Japan is located) visited the Hiyoshi India Chennai office on 23.02.2026. During the visit, we had the opportunity to discuss various topics including business developments in India and environmental issues.
Shiga Prefecture is home to Lake Biwa, Japan’s largest lake. As the prefecture’s economy expanded, deterioration in the lake’s water quality became a serious concern. However, through the dedicated efforts of local residents, companies, research institutions and the government, the water quality has significantly improved.
Today, Shiga Prefecture is recognized both domestically and internationally as a successful model of environmental regeneration having effectively addressed environmental challenges and established a sustainable water environment.
