The objective of this student training/project scheme is to develop and utilize the student’s talent and potential ability in our country and to use them for solving specific Science and Technology problems relevant and useful to our society.
Encourage students who have dissertation work in their regular curriculum to take up useful minor research projects during their study in UG/PG courses with environment related specialization. We also provide a chance to work on the implementation of the most innovative ideas and projects.

Program Background: The JIM (Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing and the JEC (Japanese Endowed Courses) Scheme are part of joint-governmental initiatives of the Government of Japan and India for skilling the manufacturing related human resources in India.
Reason: Job related technical skills and understanding of Japanese manufacturing practices such as 5S, Kaizen, etc and bettering of soft skills (discipline, work culture) amongst the human resources that are currently studying to join the manufacturing sector.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, (METI) Japan and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, India signed an MOC(Memorandum of Collaboration) in November 2016 to facilitate the projects as follows:
Train 30,000 floor shop leaders and engineers to Japanese standards in the next 10 years.
Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) Japanese Endowed Courses (JEC)
The main policy pillar of Modinomics proposed by Prime Minister Modi in August 2014.
Promote manufacturing industry in India through acceptance of direct investment. (Make in India)
Improve skills of young people by vocational training project. (Skill India)
Target of the JEC Scheme: The target of the JEC is to provide skilling and educative training programs to future middle-management level engineering candidates who aim to join the manufacturing sector in India. The JEC Scheme targets engineering and technical institutes and colleges to hold such training.
Training Duration: Can range from being 1-day long to a few-months in length
Training Curriculum: Educate specialized technologies possessed by Japanese companies through lectures and practical instruction
